We travelled down to Winchester for the Christmas market and ended up having dinner at La Gastronomia – Sergio Cook For You, and it absolutely did not disappoint.

Only place in Winchester that serves beautifully cooked food ..this is genuine Italian cooking at its very best.. wow!! 100x better, fresher food & higher standards of cooking than anywhere else… especially better than that posh place on the other side of the roundabout.

I had a truffle ravioli and my partner had tortellini in a vegetable broth, both were absolutely delicious. I had pistachio ice cream with a biscuit and my partner had pistachio ice cream with raspberry meringue. It was such good ice cream. Lovely atmosphere and service. Definitely want to come back and try the tasting menu next time!

Not much to look at from the outside, but inside this place is a hidden gem. Excellent, authentic Italian food, pleasant ambiance, and friendly people. Also very dog friendly!

Great evening and a true Italian restaurant
Love there is no menu and just the option for courses
Wine was good too and Sergio and his staff very attentive and welcoming
Definitely need to book in advance as only a small restaurant

We went here to celebrate my husband’s birthday and we may have found our favorite spot in Winchester. I’ve almost given up on finding an Italian restaurant that serves authentic dishes and Sergio did not disappoint.
